Sunshine protection | Guide for summers

Summer has begun with its bright and sunny day. Although a proper amount of sunshine is necessary because it is the natural source of vitamin D. Vitamin D helps to activate white blood cells which protect our body. It also plays a role in calcium absorption and bone health.
But as in summer you are more exposed to sun so we have to adopt preventive measures. Sun rays not only burn your skin but also cause of skin spot, skin aging and skin cancer. I will share some tips to avoid sun shine.

Limit your exposure to sun. Intensity of sun rays is more during midmorning and midnoon. So avoid going outside. Wear protective clothing and sunglasses.

Your skin is more exposed to sun so you should use sun block or sun cream. Sun block is not luxury. It has become necessity now. Many sun blocks are available in market. You should select carefully. Choose water resistant or water proof sun block especially if you swimming. Apply it before 3o mints going outside. Reapply every 2 to 3 hours.

Sun rays have both UVA and UVB. Protection from both these rays is necessary. UVA has skin aging effect while UVB has skin burn and cancer effect. Many sun blocks provide protection from UVB but not from UVA. Use that sun block which protects you from both.

Apply sun block of SPF 15 or higher. Some people say that higher SPF (Sun Protection factors) mean higher protection while many are not agreed. A common opinion is that SPF 15 and 30 is normally good.

While purchasing sun block read its ingredients carefully. It has Vitamin A or its derivatives than don’t purchase it because it may boost up cancer.
